Racers Stymie Reno, Take 2-1 Win
|
Bowling Green Racers starter Alain Picard pitched a strong game against the Reno Rockets at Red Rocket Field, leading the Racers to a 2-1 win. Bowling Green reliever Yohachi Adachi picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Iván Herrera was saddled with the loss. David Lidstone locked down his 3rd save.
Had Simon Leeflang not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Leeflang hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Racers.
"Both teams played hard," said Bowling Green manager Jorge Magana.
The Rockets fall to 4-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 2034 season.
