Bomberos Bang Out 9-5 Win Versus Silver Lake
|
The Espanola Bomberos defeated the Silver Lake Baristas, 9-5. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Jonathan Cottle, who was 3-3 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Kiyohira Yokoyama closed it out for his 1st save. Espanola, now 5-3, has played well in the early going.
The Bomberos got a big at-bat from first baseman Brendan Webb. For the game, Webb was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Espanola a 2-0 lead.
