Raiders Bang Out 7-5 Win Versus Pasadena
|
The Reno Raiders defeated the Pasadena Bumblebees, 7-5. Earning player of the game honors was catcher Gary Carter, who went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Reno reliever Gerardo Estrada picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jerry Kennedy absorbed the loss. Gerry LaForest closed it out for his 3rd save.
Carter contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Reno in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-1, Carter took a fastball from Jerry Kennedy and stroked the home run to right. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Raiders to leap in front, 3-2.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Carter. "And not try to do too much."
Reno, now 5-3, has played well in the early going.
