The Coronado Phantoms powered past the Albuquerque Cacti, 12-4, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Giampaolo Marcovicci went 2-4 with a triple and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. Alberto García, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Cacti to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 4. Coronado, now 6-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.

Jamie DeWoody aided the Coronado cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the third. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said DeWoody.
