The Bowling Green Racers did just enough to sneak past the Espanola Bomberos, 4-3, at Top of the Hill. Bowling Green pitcher Alain Picard earned player of the game honors. The Racers, with just their 1st win so far in 2034, have yet to catch fire.
Simon Leeflang drove in one run for Bowling Green. The 29-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Kiyohira Yokoyama. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Picard.
