Chicago and Silver Lake met at Ashton Gate in front of a lively crowd.
Thomaz Quint made an impact in the 6-1 Chicago win over Silver Lake. Quint went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Chicago reliever Millard Dixon got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Carl Veeck was tagged with the loss.
Steve Pollard aided the Chicago cause with a 2-run single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"I thought we played a nice game," Quint told the Chicago Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Chicago, now 4-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
