Reno shortstop Kiyoshi Shinohara had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-6, to Fairfield at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Shinohara went 4-4 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Fairfield, now 4-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
In the bottom of the fifth, Fairfield catcher Ernie Horswill had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Horswill stroked a bases-clearing double to left. It made the score 6-5, Fairfield. For the game, he was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Horswill told the Fairfield News.
