Freeze Lose, 5-2, at The Death Star
|
The Detroit Death Stars got a good effort from starter Steve Ferguson in defeating the Minneapolis Freeze at The Death Star. The final score was 5-2. Ferguson, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Kent Whitten earned the save for Detroit, his 1st of the year.
The Death Stars got a big at-bat from right fielder John Huot. For the game, Huot went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Detroit a 4-1 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Huot told the Detroit Chronicle.
At 2-1, the Death Stars have played well so far.
