Groover goes 4-for-4, Kodiaks Move to 3-1
|
Conditions were not ideal but Calgary and Bronx were able to put their game in the books.
The Calgary Kodiaks topped the Bronx Bombers, 5-2, in Darryl Kile League action at Bronx Ballpark. The player of the game was Calgary left fielder Dan Groover. Dan Miscavage was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 5 walks and 7 strikeouts.
Colin Carpenter aided the Calgary cause with a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Groover told the Calgary Times.
Calgary, now 3-1, has gotten their season off to a good start.
