Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Reno Rockets home opener. Junji Kobayashi started for the home team against Roberto Valentín for the Silver Lake Baristas. The Rockets were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 11-1, Silver Lake. Roberto Valentín was named player of the game. The save went to Joe Hutchins, his 1st this season.

Andrew Spence aided the Silver Lake cause with a 2-run double in the top of the first. For the game, the catcher was 2-5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
