Crowds lined up early in front of Durham Bulls Athletic Park, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2034 TRIPLE A season. On the mound was Mitsuzuka Nakano for the visiting Espanola Bomberos and Joe Gillard for the hometown Fairfield Flash. In a spirited contest, the Flash pulled out the win, defeating the Bomberos by the score of 4-3. Earning player of the game honors was Mitsuzuka Nakano.
Dan Thibodeau, who was drafted in the three round of the 2030 draft, chipped in for Fairfield with a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Thibodeau said after the game.
