The Canton Paczkis satisfied the home crowd at Mckinley Park, treating them to a season-opening win, 6-5, over the Fort Worth Cats. Starting Pitcher Goro Ota was named player of the game for Canton. The save went to Atmananda Katragadda, his 1st this season.
Nick Wedemeyer aided the Canton cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Wedemeyer said after the game.
