Freeze Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
The Minneapolis Freeze ushered in the 2034 season with a win versus the Pasadena Bumblebees at The Ice Box. The final score was 8-2. Starting Pitcher Sylvester Richardson was named player of the game. Kyoji Rin recorded the save for Minneapolis, his 1st of the season.

The Freeze got a big at-bat from first baseman Rien van Helvert. For the game, van Helvert went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Minneapolis a 4-2 lead.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," van Helvert said.
