The contest featured a prime matchup between Théophile Richard of the visiting Reno Raiders and Takeshi Gato of the Death Stars. The final score was 4-1, the Raiders getting the win. Earning player of the game honors was John Huot.

Devin West aided the Reno cause with a 2-run double in the top of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Detroit skipper Loren Garrison, "and it cost us."
