The Cabo San Lucas Toreros got a superb performance from pitcher Masazumi Ohayashi. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Bloomington. The Blazers won the game, 4-1. In spite of the loss, Ohayashi was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. Bloomington reliever Joachim Doucet was the winner. His record is now 6-1. The losing pitcher was Masazumi Ohayashi. The Blazers bumped their record to 96-66 with this latest triumph.

Bloomington used the timely hitting of Eugene Axe to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blazers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Axe told the Bloomington Times: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
