Islanders Roll to 8-3 Win Over Beavers
|
With center fielder Zane Mogeni leading the charge, the Hawaii Islanders defeated the Portland Beavers, 8-3, at Aloha Stadium. Mogeni, the two overall pick in the 2028 draft, went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win brings the Islanders to 7-10, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
Mogeni had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Islanders went on to win.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Mogeni said after the game.
