Hornets Lose, 8-3, at The Death Star
|
Georgia played host to Eureka at the friendly confines of The Death Star.
Georgia pitcher Oliver Romero did his part in helping his team beat the Eureka Hornets, 8-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Romero, now 6-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs.
The Grays got a big at-bat from left fielder Tadataka Yoshino. For the game, Yoshino was 1-4 with a double and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 28th double of the season gave Georgia a 3-2 lead.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Romero.
Today's win puts Georgia at 80-81, while Eureka falls to 78-83.
