Sheffield Spins Shutout
|
Pat Sheffield of the Eureka Hornets shut out the Georgia Grays 3-0 at The Death Star today, holding them to 5 hits with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts.
Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Georgia skipper Davey Morris called the outing from Sheffield "a jewel."
"The way Sheffield was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said.
This year Sheffield has fanned 69 in 122.2 innings and collected a 5-5 record with a 4.11 ERA.
