Blazers Lose to Toreros, 6-4
|
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros relied on the hitting of designated hitter Barry Ross to stop the Bloomington Blazers, 6-4. For the game, Ross went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Cabo San Lucas, at 63-96, sits in last place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
The Toreros beat the Blazers with some clutch hitting. The double by Junzo Takenaka in the bottom of the sixth is a good example. With two down, Takenaka gave his team the lead, 6-4, when he came through with the big hit.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Ross said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
