Victory Over Blazers Takes Eureka to 11-6
|
Eureka starter Walt Lawson pitched effectively against the Bloomington Blazers at Arson Arena. The right-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. Lawson picked up the win for Eureka, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Alim bin Umar saved it for Eureka.
Ka-fei Bi, who is a three-time All-Star, chipped in for Eureka with a solo home run in the top of the first. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Eureka manager Stephen Jackson. "Our pregame was pretty good."
