Victory Pushes Marauders Record to 105-53
|
Maple Marauders starter Héctor Zúñiga kept the San Francisco Earthquakes hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-2 win. Zúñiga got the win, improving to 17-5. He allowed 3 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Zúñiga allowed 2 earned runs. The first-place Marauders have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
The Marauders got a big at-bat from designated hitter Ángel Vázquez. For the game, Vázquez went 1 for 5. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 150th hit of the season gave Maple a 3-2 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Zúñiga.
