Havana Stogies starter Félix Ruíz was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the New England Colonials, 5-1. The Stogies bumped their record to 97-59 with this latest triumph.

The Stogies got a big at-bat from first baseman Garin Renzenbrink. For the game, Renzenbrink was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Havana a 3-0 lead.

"Félix was throwing strikes, locating well," said Havana manager Reynaldo Vázquez.
