Islanders Walk Off with Win
|
Hawaii starter David Guzman had a strong outing against the Portland Beavers at Aloha Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. The win brings the Islanders to 6-10, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
Frank Nicholson was the walk-off hero for Hawaii. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Islanders pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This was a good win," said Nicholson.
