Toreros Clip Pioneers in Tight Contest
"The Fort" at B.C. Place was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Cabo San Lucas Toreros and the Vancouver Pioneers.

The Vancouver Pioneers got a sterling performance from third baseman Ashis Mudigonda, but the Toreros still prevailed, 8-7. Mudigonda was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Cabo San Lucas reliever Sawao Yoshimura was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Humberto Saucedo took the loss.

The Toreros got a big at-bat from third baseman Kerry Hood. For the game, Hood was 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. In the top of the eighth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Cabo San Lucas a 8-7 lead.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Hood said after the game.

Cabo San Lucas now has a 3-game win streak.
