Maple got a terrific performance from designated hitter Ángel Vázquez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cabo San Lucas Toreros. Cabo San Lucas won the Legends Park contest, 8-5. Vázquez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Cabo San Lucas reliever Tomio Nakahara picked up the win, upping his record to 3-10. Hideaki Nakayama took the loss. Cabo San Lucas is in last place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division with a record of 58-94.
The Toreros got a big at-bat from second baseman Tony Ramirez. For the game, Ramirez went 1 for 1 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the top of the tenth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 10th double of the season gave Cabo San Lucas a 8-5 lead.
"There's no quit in this team," said Toreros manager Matt Johnson.
