The Kansas City Tornadoes defeated the Eureka Hornets, 5-3, at The Nest today. Leading the charge for Kansas City was first baseman Manny Silva. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Kansas City reliever Joe Kearns was credited with the win, to go to 12-3. Mitsunari Kobayashi took the loss for Eureka. Al Hrabosky Jr. was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 23 save opportunities.

The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth when Silva hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the Tornadoes into the lead, 3-0.

"It was a solid team effort," said Silva after the game.

The Tornadoes' win now puts them at 58-92.
