Bombers Clip Blazers in Tight Contest
|
Bloomington got a terrific performance from pitcher Landy Lu, but it wasn't enough to beat the South Carolina Bombers. South Carolina won the Bomber Ballpark contest, 3-2. Lu was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. South Carolina reliever Ed Armstrong was credited with the win, to go to 5-4. Joachim Doucet took the loss for Bloomington. The Bombers' win now puts them at 75-76.
Steve Lindsey was the walk-off hero for South Carolina. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bombers first baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Lindsey said.
