The Eureka Hornets and Kansas City Tornadoes played an exciting game at The Nest.
Eureka left fielder Juan González made his presence felt in the 4-3 Hornets triumph over the Kansas City Tornadoes. González was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kansas City, at 57-92, has lost 5 straight.
González had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 cutter from Robinson Merrado, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Hornets a 4-3 lead. It was the 24th home run of the year for González.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," González told reporters after the game.
