Colonials Drop Black Knights with Late Score
|
New England beat Brooklyn at Blue Ivy Stadium, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Kichibei Endo, who earned player of the game honors. Lien-ying Mar, credited with the win, is now 4-3. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Colonials improved to 70-79.
The Colonials got a big at-bat from left fielder Jacob Runk. For the game, Runk was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 17th double of the season gave New England a 3-2 lead.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Runk.
