Las Vegas left-hander Junji Kobayashi was sensational in shutting out the Havana Stogies, 2-0. Kobayashi went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 5-8. Amaui Mahi'ai notched his 17th save in 21 chances.

Norberto Rivera aided the Las Vegas cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the second. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.

Kobayashi attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
