Hawaii left-hander Allen Cox was sensational in shutting out the Santa Fe Fuego, 7-0. Keith Martin got the save, his 4th in 11 chances. The Islanders bumped their record to 94-56 with this latest triumph.

Cox, a native of Portland, Oregon, was dealing all game. He kept Santa Fe hitters off-balance, while giving the Islanders 7 quality innings. Cox threw 101 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 12.

Cox attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
