Martínez Sensational for Colonials
The New England Colonials got a magnificent performance from pitcher Juan Martínez, who muffled the Brooklyn offense en route to a tight 3-0 Colonials win at Blue Ivy Stadium. Lien-ying Mar saved it for New England. The Colonials sit in third place in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division with a record of 69-79.

Martínez was in the zone all game. He frustrated Brooklyn hitters while giving the Colonials 7 innings of quality work. Martínez threw 113 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 5 punchouts.

Afterward, Colonials manager Todd Belcher was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
