Santa Fe second baseman Bill Grant had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Grant was 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, even as Rubber City beat the Fuego, 3-2. Grant was named the player of the game despite the loss. Anupradana Agarkar got the save, his 22nd in 30 chances. The Rhinos now have a mark of 72-76.

Mike Ramos helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to give Rubber City a 2-0 lead.

"Both teams played hard," said Rubber City manager Larry Johnson.
