Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Fuego
|
Andy Schuman never let the Rhinos get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Fuego to a 3-1 win. Santa Fe reliever Jun'ichi Suzuki got the win, raising his record to 3-9. Anupradana Agarkar was tagged with the loss. The 4th-place Fuego improved to 68-79.
Santa Fe won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Anupradana Agarkar on the mound for Rubber City, pinch hitter Matt Clark hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Fuego fans to their feet.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Schuman.
