The Vancouver Pioneers defeated the Kansas City Tornadoes, 9-5. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Tsunayoshi Ito, who hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The 4th-place Pioneers improved to 68-78.

The Pioneers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Ruben Torres. For the game, Torres was 1 for 1 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave Vancouver a 7-5 lead.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Vancouver skipper Dorian McNeal.
