Marauders Turn Back So Cal, 4-2
|
Maple got a strong outing from Héctor Zúñiga as the Marauders defeated the So Cal Republic, 4-2, at House of the Republic. Zúñiga, now 16-5, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 4, and allowing 2 earned runs. Justin Rogers got the save, his 3rd in 3 chances.
The Marauders got a big at-bat from catcher Motonobu Yamasaki. For the game, Yamasaki went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 25th home run of the season gave Maple a 3-1 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Yamasaki. "And not try to do too much."
The Marauders bumped their record to 96-47 with this latest triumph.
