Earthquakes Win at Seattle, 12-4
|
The umbrellas came out during the San Francisco-Seattle contest at Sick's Stadium.
With right fielder Tom Lampley leading the charge, the San Francisco Earthquakes defeated the Seattle Sasquatch, 12-4, at Sick's Stadium. Lampley was 4-5 with 4 singles. He drove in 4 runs. Lloyd Huggins got the win, improving to 9-12. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1.
The Earthquakes got a big at-bat from first baseman Elijah Brown. For the game, Brown went 4-5 with 4 singles. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 66th hit of the season gave San Francisco a 1-0 lead.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Lampley told a San Francisco Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
San Francisco is now 56-87.
