Tornadoes Get Road Win, 3-2
|
The Kansas City Tornadoes eked out a 3-2 win versus the Portland Beavers at Waterfront Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Bernardino Pacheco, who captured player of the game honors. Pacheco went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 3-5. Al Hrabosky Jr. notched his 14th save in 18 chances.
The Tornadoes got a big at-bat from designated hitter Oliver North. For the game, North went 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 35th double of the season gave Kansas City a 2-0 lead.
"It was a good effort all around," said Pacheco.
Kansas City currently is in last place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division at 54-86.
