The So Cal Republic topped the Maple Marauders, 4-2, in Roberto Clemente League action at House of the Republic. The player of the game was So Cal pitcher and Canada native Ju-ao Ru. Ru went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-3. The first-place Republic have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.

Freddie Baseball had a big run-scoring single for the Republic in the bottom of the fourth inning. With So Cal leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Orlando Días and stroked the single to right. It was his 96th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Republic ahead, 4-2.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Baseball told the So Cal Gazette.
