Colonials Win at Kansas City, 8-5
|
The New England Colonials topped the Kansas City Tornadoes by the score of 8-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Donald Latulippe. Latulippe went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Colonials on the day. New England reliever Juan Montés picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. António Medrano took the loss. Lien-ying Mar, credited with the save, is now 10 for 12 in save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for New England, had it not been for Edgardo Bustamante, the former first round draft pick . Bustamante contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put New England up, 2-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Latulippe.
The Tornadoes, at 52-85, have lost 5 straight games.
