Multi-HR Game for White in 6-3 Win
|
The Las Vegas Aces knocked off the South Carolina Bombers, 6-3, at Bomber Ballpark. Doug White, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Las Vegas won. The designated hitter was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. Las Vegas reliever Juan Carlos Baraja was the winner. His record is now 4-6. The losing pitcher was Ivan Perez. Amaui Mahi'ai earned his 11th save in 15 chances.
Had Jeremy Bassett not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Bassett hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Aces.
"We'll enjoy this win," said White. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
With the win, Las Vegas goes to 50-88, while the Bombers fall to 69-69.
