Beavers Clip Aces in Tight Contest
|
Portland second baseman Phil Kinch had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Las Vegas Aces, 8-7. Olivier Martin converted his 41st save in 49 tries. Portland bumps their record to 66-72 with the win.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Lai-hsiang Xiu. For the game, Xiu went 1-1. In the top of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 62nd hit of the season gave Portland a 5-4 lead.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Portland manager John Harrison.
