Marauders Win at Georgia, 8-4
|
Spirited fans at The Death Star greeted the Georgia Grays for their clash with the Maple Marauders.
The Marauders grabbed a win, 8-4, at The Death Star, overcoming a fine effort from Georgia pitcher Pete Murphy. Murphy went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. Maple reliever Héctor Zúñiga picked up the win, upping his record to 15-5. Dave Munier was saddled with the loss.
It could have been a different outcome for Maple, had it not been for Alejandro Marés, the speedster . Marés contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Maple up, 5-4.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Marés told the Maple Daily News.
The Marauders have an impressive 94-44 record.
