The Havana Stogies beat the San Diego Hops, 4-3, at The Humidor. The Stogies got a fine performance from first baseman Kohei Matsumoto, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Felipe Arreola was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 32 of 36 save opportunities. The Stogies bumped their record to 87-49 with this latest triumph.

Matsumoto had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Stogies went on to win.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Matsumoto said after the game.
