Tornadoes Clip Earthquakes, 7-6
|
The Kansas City Tornadoes and San Francisco Earthquakes obliged those fans who came to Debris Field hoping for an exciting game.
The Kansas City Tornadoes relied on the hitting of center fielder Gil Keyworth to stop the San Francisco Earthquakes, 7-6. For the game, Keyworth went 2 for 5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Kansas City reliever Cliff McDaniel picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Kyung-hwan Ho absorbed the loss. Al Hrabosky Jr. earned his 13th save in 17 chances.
Keyworth had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Tornadoes went on to win.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Keyworth.
The last-place Tornadoes are now 52-80, the Earthquakes 52-83.
