Texans Score Late to Upend Mustangs, 4-2
|
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Dave Stoner, the Dallas Texans defeated the Mile High Mustangs, 4-2. Stoner was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Texans. The win was credited to Nicolas Dupuis in relief. His record improves to 9-6. Dane Manwaring took the loss. Dallas now has a 3-game win streak.
Stoner had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 sinker from Dane Manwaring, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Texans a 4-2 lead. It was the 18th home run of the year for Stoner.
Stoner told a Dallas Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
