Armada Come Back Late to Clip Prowlers
|
Lucky 7 Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the Oklahoma City Prowlers and Quebec Armada.
Quebec beat Oklahoma City on the strength of starter Adhipa Vemireddy's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. The winner was Quebec reliever Zong-yuan Sang, now 1-0. The loser was John Denny.
Mike Duren was 1-3 for Quebec. The fan favorite had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Manuel Guerrero. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Duren told the Quebec Times.
The win brings the Armada to 8-4, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
