Both teams had their chances, but the Rubber City Rhinos eventually prevailed at The Rubber Grounds.
Rubber City right-hander Bob Ruíz made an effective start against the Dallas Texans at The Rubber Grounds, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Rubber City reliever Atmananda Katragadda picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tony López was saddled with the loss.
Pete Bell drove in one run for Rubber City. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tony López. It was his 39th RBI of the season.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Bell said.
Rubber City is now riding a 3-game win streak.
