Mustangs Edge Tornadoes, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring game between Mile High and Kansas City, pitcher James Jostle was excellent. The Mile High left-hander was named the player of the game in Mile High's 2-1 win. Mile High reliever Yoshiki Sato picked up the win, upping his record to 6-1. Charlie Haydon was saddled with the loss. The last-place Tornadoes have lost 11 consecutive games.
Had Miguel Olberos not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Olberos hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Mustangs.
"James did a tremendous job," said Mile High manager Kinnojo Shirai.
