Cadenhead, Marauders Rough Up Pioneers
|
The Maple Marauders trumped the Vancouver Pioneers, 11-3, at Legends Park. Maple center fielder Anthony Cadenhead was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Steve McBryde, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 8-0. Maple improves to 83-41 with the win. They lead their division by 9½ games.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Cadenhead, who is tied for 9th in the TML with a .308 batting average, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Marauders into the lead, 5-1.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Cadenhead said.
